La Farsa goes ALL the way. In fact, mediocrity doesn’t exist in the band’s vocabulary. From their live musical performances to their recently released album, this crew brings it. So when we booked them for the sessions, we knew we were in for a treat. And they didn’t disappoint. La Farsi arrived in all their theatrical glory with their own lighting crew and a mob of “clappers” in tow.
La Farsa is an elegantly lavish musical experience. The range of talent is not unlike a musical treasure chest – every time you reach in, you pull out something different but equally majestic. The cast includes Erin Haley: keyboards, percussion, vocals; Ryan Cron: guitar, bass, vocals; Flora Bernard: drums, guitar, percussion, vocals; Maxwell Scheller: percussion, bass; and Val Spadafora Gleason: violin.
Special props to Aaron Ernst for lighting design and production.
Now, keeping with La Farsa’s philosophy, we invite you to experience this week’s explosive sessions. Remember, audience participation is required.
You can see La Farsa live this Sunday (July 18th) with Mynabird and Calico at The Urban Lounge.
Two and a Half White Guys ain’t no Ras Trent reggae band. They exhibit impeccable musicianship and there’s not a single dread lock in the lot. Formed in 1998, these guys have produced 5 albums and toured on both coasts several times. SLUG magazine called their latest record, Gringos, “the best ska album of 2009.” The band consists of Nate Robinson on guitar and vocals, Shaun Thomas on drums, Andy Evans on bass, Dave Howse on guitar, Zach Craigle on alto sax and backing vocals, and Dan Nelson on tenor sax and backing vocals. These guys are tight like a tiger. Enjoy.
You can find Two and a Half White Guys in all the usual places: Facebook, Myspace and their own site. You can also see them live tomorrow night (July 10th) at The Hog Wallow.
